Suncorp offered to buy all Promina's ordinary shares for 0.2618 Suncorp shares and A$1.80 cash per Promina share. At Thursday's prices that equated to around 18 times Promina's forecast 2006 earnings compared with earnings multiples near 15 for bigger insurers IAG and QBE.
